The Cider Barn at Farrants Farm’s press was installed about 350 years ago. The hand wound, twin screwed press is still used today to produce traditional Farmhouse cider pressed through straw. Come along to help conduct a pressing, watch this amazing machine in action and taste some cider afterwards. Cider is available for sale, great Christmas Presents.

Devon Wildlife Trust’s new orchard planted with the help of Orchard Link last year. Adam Montague will lead a morning classroom session and practical session in the afternoon.

Winter pruning
Charles Staniland's winter pruning course was on Sunday 12th February. This training event took place on Dick Ensor's orchard and was of particular value to those with young trees.
Grafting Course Saturday 18th February 2012
Adam Montague leads us through the steps of successful grafting - at the Husbandry School . Rootstock and scions were provided. Participants left with a couple of their own grafted trees. All grafting equipment was provided and also available for sale.
Annual Gathering
The annual Orchard Link Gathering was held on Sunday 11th March at Rattery Village Hall.
